Marriage and Couples Counseling

"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love..." Eph. 5:1

Marital and couples therapist Steve Williams has sought to make marital and couples counseling as respectful, positive and effective as possible. He seeks to help couples gain useful and healthy insights, interpretations and tools to make being together as loving, enjoyable, and peaceful as possible.
Steve attempts to assist couples in developing healthy expectations of themselves and their spouse in order to enjoy a healthy personal identity and healthy couple closeness. Making decisions together, parenting, sexual intimacy, and many other issues can be very diffcult and couples counseling can be extremely effective in creating a more harmonious and enjoyable relationship.
Marital and couples counseling can be brief oriented or sustained continuity until the relationship strengths or goals are achieved to exit therapy.
The beginning of couples counseling is used for assessment. This takes 2 to 3 sessions and includes both together and individual sessions. Steve uses those sessions for  identifying relational history, couples interactional styles, couples specific stressors, couple and individual strengths. Phase 2 is for relational strength building. Phase 3 is for transitioning for termination.
